First Lego League excites students, ages 9-14, about science and technology while teaching them important core values. Teams of up to 10 students build and program an autonomous robot to complete various missions. They also create an innovative solution to a real world problem relating to a theme. These three elements - the Robot Game, Project, and FLL Core Values - make up what's called the yearly Challenge. Six elementary schools in the Granite School District successfully participated in the program this year, with only one having any prior experience! After hours of hard work and real world lessons in "gracious professionalism" and "coopertition", students learn that the journey is more important than the destination and that failure can lead to success. Check out this program that motivates and excites students in the fields of science and technology while teaching the importance of team work.
I am a library media technology specialist. I love books and technology so naturally Maker Space was the perfect fit for me. I love working with robots and learning new things.
